Fast Mormon Marriages
by jameswilmons Mar 2012
I had a friend during my short stint at BYU who was so desperate to get married she had a new 'target' guy each week. Finally one week she met a guy in her ward. They dated (made out) for three weeks. Then he drove her up to Washington state to meet his parents, at which point he proposed. She said yes, of course. This was THREE WEEKS after meeting!
Mormon Church Strengthening The Members Committee...
by Stumbling Mar 2012
In the recent BBC TV programme 'The Mormon Candidate', Reporter Michael Sweeney gained two senior confirmations of the current existence of this secretive (oops...sacred) sub-organisation within the Mormon Church. The two people directly asked about this secret Committee were Elder Jeffrey Holland and Senior Church PR Manager Michael Purdy.
Mormon Apostle Jeffery Holland was ambushed by BBC
by sherlock Mar 2012
The church was clearly very unhappy with the BBC documentary 'The Mormon Candidate', hand delivering a letter of complaint to the BBC, which mentioned that Elder Holland had been ambushed and then putting up the defensive on Facebook.
my Mormon family has selective memory of the temple
by Romy Mar 2012
I recently revealed my disbelief to my mom, dad and another family member and told them my first issue came up from looking up mason secrets after hearing someone at work talking about masons. I had NO CLUE what I was in for because I have never been through the endowment, looked up anything about the ceremony, watched Big Love, heard anything from friends etc...so when I got a lot of google links back about the similarities of masonry to the mormon temple ceremony I was shocked.
How much does the average Mormon really know...
by brook
I've been reading this site and others like it for about 10 years. With the knowledge/truth I have learned about the Mormon church, I can't think of what it's like to not know. What do you all think the average TBM knows about their church. For example, do they even know about the BoA scandal? Or how much do they really know about polygamy, other than, it was practiced. I thought I'd ask here because a lot of you may be fresh out of the mold. How in the dark were you?
A Very Sad Sacrament Meeting Story
by Just Once Mar 2012
A TBM friend of mine related a very sad story, a high councilman gave, yesterday at their sacrament meeting.
Did you go through Washing and Annointing before 1990?
deconverted2010
I'm curious if anyone here experience the washing and annointing before 1990, did you really have to do that fully naked? What was your experience? What were your thoughts? Were you shocked? prepared?
Why do non-Mormoms post here?
by peaceout2012
I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just curious as to why people who have never been member of the lds church feel the need to post on a recovery board. I guess I can understand a nevermo wife or husband. Please explain how you can relate to those of us trying to recover, vent, laugh, and move on. I know this sounds rude, but I really don't get it.
Oaks Admits Apostolic Arrogance.
by baura Mar 2012
The Mormon-sponsored Youtube video of Oaks admitting the Church is losing the 20-30 year old men he makes an interesting statement. He talks about AFTER he was called to be an apostle he was assigned to the missionary committee and told to assign missionaries. He claims he asked Bruce R. McConkie, "how do you know where to assign them?" The answer is telling: It starts at about 3:00 in the video:
what was your first reaction when you learned the truth about Mormonism?
by nitsua6554 Mar 2012
When I first started hearing the truth I had such bad anxiety I couldn't sleep. All I could think about was "oh s***."
