Feeling alot of anger towards my parents for not seeing through the scam of Mormonism!
turnonthelights sep 2012
At 25 I really started having serious doubts and started to regret my temple marriage to my tbm husband. By 30 I knew it was and always had been nothing more than a scam for suckers. I was grateful that I had been intuitive enough to see through it all. But what about my parents? Why hadn't they seen the warning signs years earlier? My dad is a lawyer and smarter than I am but here he is blinded for years by the lies. He at least should have been smart enough to have caught on by now.
Tom Monson's "Nasty" Coke Habit: Revealing Info from Inside His Family & from Those Who Work for Him (Plus, the Mormon Church's Long-Standing Anti-Coke "Revelation," Now Repealed)

The Mormon Church has--yet again--performed a complete 180: This time on its now-defunct denunciation of consuming caffeinated sodas.
Is better to leave Mormonism cold turkey or gradually?
MntZerin Aug 2012
I’m currently a recommend holding active member of the church. I was born and raised in the church and did all the things I was suppose to do. I've been blessed with a lovely wife and a young family. All my extended family, in-laws, and friends are recommend holding members.
Why is it so hard to "deprogram", trying to understand.

Hi there,
I have to admit, I am having a really hard time "breaking" commandments which I know are not true, but were still a part of my life for so long.
Mormon Beliefs that did the most damage to me.

Sexual thoughts are unclean thoughts--I felt so tortured as an 11 year old for not being able to get thoughts of nude girls out of my mind, that I used to wish that a car would lose control and run me over so that I could die and it wouldn't be suicide or murder.
Unconfirmed Reports Re Monson, Alzheimer's and Internal High-Level Manuevering

Word has come to me from an individual and long-time contact (identity protected here) who appears to be giving some degree of credence to rumors that Thomas S. Monson may be suffering from Alzheimer's' disease.
Why can't Mormon's talk about things other than Mormon
sam Aug 2012
For the past month, I have focused on TBM's [Mormons] and their talk when I am in their company. My goal was to try and have a talk (short or long) without bringing up Mormon @#$;. So far, I have not been successful. In every case (so far), the TBM has brought in something that is a Mormon thing.

Ward Crazies - Share your stories here pt1

OK so I was born and raised in Europe, I don't live there any longer, but the church isn't huge over there. Missions must be very hard and the pickings are slim. The only people in my home ward ever seemed to get baptized were the vulnerable, and the slightly unhinged/mentally ill people. This made for some hilarious Testimonkey meetings

Not a ward story, but, when my father in law came to visit with his new wife, (that doesn't know how to shut-up), we were talking about the temple and she went on to tell us how she loved to go there because she was best friends with Emma Smith (in the pre-existence) and Emma would come to her in the temple
